ABOUT CKMC —
SCHOOL OF MANHWA CONTENTS
Korea’s largest and most competitive comics education institution — home to over 900 aspiring creators in webtoons, print comics, and web novels.
Every year, more than 2,500 applicants compete for 200 spots, making CKMC the world's unquestionably most selective webtoon institution.
A dedicated full-time faculty of 25 active webtoon artists, cartoonists, writers, critics, and researchers mentors these passionate students as committed educators and senior creators.
Our graduates are now active professionals on global platforms such as NAVER WEBTOON, Kakao Page, and Lezhin Comics, and their stories continue to reach audiences around the world.
Several of our alumni created webtoons that were later adapted into Netflix Original Series, including Sweet Home and Nevertheless, both of which introduced K-Webtoon storytelling to a global audience.
They have also made their mark in the international comics scene — including Bad Friends by Ancco (winner of the Prix Révélation at the Angoulême International Comics Festival 2017) and Maximum Ride Vol. 4 by NaRae Lee (ranked No. 1 on The New York Times Manga Best Seller list, August 2011).
And fun fact — did you know that the chicken mascot character for the world-famous spicy noodles, Hot Buldak Ramen, was also designed by one of our graduates?
